Pollyball was created after beloved wife, mother and sister Polly Hylant-Tracy lost her battle with breast cancer in 1990. Her husband, three daughters, and family decided to memorialize her spirit and zest for life by creating a volleyball tournament in her name. For 34 years, the community has come together to celebrate Polly and her love for backyard volleyball at Pollyball, while raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness and Early Detection. The Pollyball tournament benefits YWCA of Northwest Ohio’s Healthy Connections program, and has raised more than $1,500,000 since it's inception in 1991 to support early detection, education, and awareness programs for communities in Northwest Ohio.
